Iacocca Resigns From Chrysler Corp. Board: Lee A. Iacocca quit the board of directors in a move that symbolized a changing of the guard at the nation’s No. 3 auto maker. The move surprised some, since Iacocca had fought to chair the board’s executive committee as a condition of his retirement as chairman, but there was no indication the departure was forced. In a prepared statement, Iacocca spoke glowingly of the board, the current management and Chrysler’s direction.
