Ghostly Politics Turn Positively Eerie in Fiji

SUVA, Fiji — It’s been said that all politics is local. In Fiji, some believe it’s also supernatural.
Security guards at the island nation’s Parliament House claim a ghost is roaming the halls--and they recorded the specter on videotape.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and opposition leader Jai Ram Reddy both studied the images. And the national TV station on Thursday broadcast the tape, which shows a shadowy figure moving about in a meeting room.
The ghost is said to have sent messages through a clairvoyant calling for Fijians to place more emphasis on traditional values, a newspaper reported.
