New Notebooks From IBM: The company plans to unveil four notebook personal computers today, updating the year-old ThinkPad product line that has been unable to keep up with demand. The new models feature a keyboard that lifts open so parts can be easily changed as new technologies become popular. (For instance, a modem for telephones could be substituted for one with cellular capability.) The models will also have video and sound features. An optional “docking station” will house stereo speakers and a drive for computer programs stored on compact discs.
