Rural Orange County will be the setting Sunday for a Country Fun Fair and Barnyard Fashion Parade, featuring potbellied pigs in tutus, put on by the Trabuco Trailblazers 4-H Club and Live Oak Canyon Stables.

County Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez will lead a panel of community leaders in judging the Barnyard Fashion Parade, which also will feature costumed goats, sheep, rabbits and ducks.

The fair, which will have games, a petting zoo, country music and 4-H demonstrations and exhibits, will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Live Oak Canyon Stables, across from the entrance to O’Neill Regional Park on Live Oak Canyon Road. The Barnyard Fashion Parade begins at 2 p.m.

Fair organizer Nancy McKibben said a goal of the event is to help the public learn more about 4-H youth programs. The Trabuco Trailblazers 4-H Club is only 2 years old and wants to become a vital part of the community, she said.

Anyone interested in participating in the 4-H program, open to youths ages 9 to 19, may sign up during the fair. The mission of 4-H is to help youth develop life skills through learn-by-doing education and experiences. Some projects offered by the Trailblazers include arts and crafts, ceramics, search and rescue, veterinary science and quilting.
