A 21-year-old Marine collapsed and died during a morning exercise run, authorities said Tuesday.

The Marine, identified as Pfc. Erick Stallinga of Grand Rapids, Mich., collapsed about 7 a.m. Monday after running 1 1/2 miles in formation, Sgt. Tony Sinagra said.
