Beschen, Parsons Advance at Surfbout

San Clemente’s Shane Beschen and Mike Parsons won their second-round heats Thursday at the Body Glove Surfbout VI at Lower Trestles near Camp Pendleton.

Beschen, the defending Bud Pro surfing tour champion, and Parsons, the 1991 champion, advanced to the third round along with Seal Beach’s Marty Thomas and Laguna Niguel’s Vince De La Pena and Pat O’Connell. Huntington Beach’s Bud Llamas and San Clemente’s Gavin Beschen were eliminated in the third round.
