Police Seek Identity of Man Found Dead
Police Monday were trying to identify the body of a Latino man believed to be in his 40s who was found near train tracks in a Canoga Park area frequented by transients and day laborers.
Los Angeles Police Detective Joel Price said the body, which was clad in light blue pants and a T-shirt with a picture of Superman on it, was found by a man who was collecting cans about 8:20 p.m. Sunday in the 21400 block of Saticoy Street.
The dead man’s head had been smashed; homicide detectives are investigating. “He was covered intentionally,” Price said. “We believe he was dead for several hours” before being discovered.
Police do not have any suspects or a motive.
