LOS ANGELES : Investigators in Jackson Case on Way to Manila

Share

Police investigating child abuse allegations against pop superstar Michael Jackson are traveling to the Philippines to question former Jackson employees who claim they saw the entertainer fondle boys.

U.S. Embassy officials in Manila said detectives plan an interview Wednesday with lawyer Mark Quindoy and his wife, Faye. They formerly managed Jackson’s Santa Ynez Valley estate.

Agence France-Presse reported that detectives from Los Angeles and Santa Barbara are involved in the trip. Embassy spokesman Frank Jenista would say only that two detectives from Southern California will conduct the interview.

Santa Barbara Sheriff Jim Thomas said his agency is working with the Los Angeles Police Department, but declined to comment on the interviews with the Quindoys. The Los Angeles Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation centered on a 13-year-old boy’s claims that he was sexually abused by the entertainer. Jackson has denied any wrongdoing.
