Colleges to Auction Off Unwanted Items

Share

A mix of unwanted equipment from Ventura’s three community colleges will be sold by the Ventura County Community College District at its first auction in three years.

The items range from manual typewriters to woodworking lathes, welding equipment, and beat-up vehicles from the district’s three campuses. Nothing sold at the auction will be guaranteed to work.

“A lot of the vehicles don’t run or they’re missing tires or windows,” said Gilbert Putnam, director of facility planning and risk management for Ventura County’s Community College District. “But, there’s some fine woodworking and welding equipment.”

All items not sold at the auction or sold as scrap will be taken to the dump.

J&J; Auction Co. of Ventura will handle the sale, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at the east end of the Camarillo Airport, 229 Durley Ave. Those interested in attending the event may inspect the items for sale on the day of the auction from 8:30 a.m. until the auction begins.
