Countywide : Three Schools Win ‘Wish List’ Prizes

Two high schools and an elementary school have won items from their “wish lists” in the Orange County Teachers’ Federal Credit Union’s Billion Dollar Sweepstakes.

Servite High School in Anaheim received 10 new computers, valued at about $15,000, as first prize in the sweepstakes, which was launched to celebrate the credit union reaching $1 billion in assets. Eight of the computers will be for students and two of them will be dedicated to the office staff.

Sequoia Elementary School in Westminster was the $10,000 second-place winner, and Tustin High School was the $5,000 third-place winner. They will receive items from their wish list later this month.

All schools whose teachers belong to the credit union were invited to participate in the sweepstakes and submitted “wish lists” of equipment that would serve as their prizes if selected. A random drawing determined the winners.

“Reaching a billion dollars in assets is truly a significant milestone in the 59-year history of the credit union,” OCTFCU President Rudy Hanley said in a statement. “We wanted to share the credit union’s good fortune with the schools, because they are the reason we are here.”
