Gore in Store
Mortal Kombat, the gory video game that has sparked controversy over its violence, remains a fast seller here and across the country. Nintendo had the blood and decapitation removed from its version; the Sega Genesis contains all the graphics. The Genesis version has prompted several returns from parents complaining about the violence at Toys R Us at Tustin Marketplace. At a Wherehouse store in Costa Mesa, there have been no complaints. Genesis is outselling Nintendo at Babbages Computer Software in South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa.
