Fluor Unit Wins $48-Million Pact to Computerize Base Maintenance

Fluor Corp.’s main operating unit said Thursday that a subsidiary has been awarded a government contract worth $48 million to examine 12 U.S. military bases and create a uniform, computerized process for regular maintenance and repair of the facilities.

The subsidiary, Fluor Daniel Inc., will also train government inspectors and conduct regular inspections of Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine installations, including the Camp Pendleton Marine base and the San Diego Naval facilities.

Under the contract with the Army Corps of Engineers, Fluor Daniel is to complete its work by the end of next year. The contract was awarded through the company’s Greenville, S.C., offices, where work on the contract has already begun.
