Taco Bell Considering Move: Officials acknowledged that the fast-food chain has held discussions with out-of-state economic development agencies interested in persuading the restaurant unit of Pepsico Inc. to relocate its headquarters. However, in meetings with Taco Bell employees at the Irvine headquarters, Vice President Rudy Pollak shed little light on the company’s plans other than to say it will decide by Nov. 30 whether to pursue building a new facility. He said the company has met with representatives of development agencies in Dallas, Atlanta and North Carolina, among others. But while out-of-state development officials are knocking on Taco Bell’s door, local development officials remain largely on the sidelines. Given the magnitude of the incentives offered by out-of-state agencies, “you can’t help but take a good, hard look,” Pollak said.
