Share

The Education Consortium of Central Los Angeles will select two eighth-grade students to receive scholarships of $500 in 1998 for use at an accredited college, university or trade school.

The purpose of the awards is to encourage students to think ahead, strive for academic excellence and enroll in an institution of higher education after they graduate from high school.

The scholarships will be provided by the USC Office of Civic and Community Relations.

All eighth-grade students enrolled in one of the 48 public and parochial schools in the consortium, except those students participating in the USC Neighborhood Academic Initiative program, are eligible.
