THOUSAND OAKS : Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Into Street Sign

A man died in Thousand Oaks early Saturday after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a street sign, authorities said.

Byron Hull, 40, of Newbury Park was riding west on Lynn Road near Lemonwood Street when his motorcycle jumped a landscaped center median and crashed into a large wooden street sign, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities found Hull unconscious at 2 a.m. and took him to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:06 a.m.

A Ventura County coroner’s spokesman said injuries to Hull’s head and chest caused his death. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
