Weekend Box Office : ‘Malice’ Hurts ‘The Good Son’

The sexual thriller “Malice,” with a cast that includes Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman, proved a popular movie in its first weekend. The Columbia Pictures/Castle Rock Entertainment release scored a potent $9.2 million. Another dark-themed film, “The Good Son,” with Macaulay Culkin, slipped from first to second position, but was still going strong. Disney’s PG-rated “Cool Runnings” careened to a cool $7 million.
