Singer-Actress Wins Koala Blue Litigation: Two lawsuits alleging that Olivia Newton-John and a partner defrauded licensed sellers of her Koala Blue line of clothing have been dismissed by a federal judge in Los Angeles. The plaintiffs, retailers who operated in Chicago and Minneapolis, claimed Koala Blue founders Newton-John and Pat Farrar illegally shut off the supply of goods to their stores. However, Marshall B. Grossman, the defendants’ lawyer, said his clients cut off the supply of goods to licensees who failed to pay their bills as Koala Blue tried to consolidate its operations under a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in 1991. Koala Blue opted for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in 1992.
