Honda May Build Luxury Car in U.S.: Pounded by a strong yen, Honda Motor Co.’s Acura division said it may decide to build a new luxury car in the United States in the next three to five years. While seven Japanese auto makers now produce cars and trucks in the United States, Acura could be the first to build a luxury model here. A Honda official declined to say what type of car it might build in the United States, but said it will probably not include one of Acura’s current models. Acura now builds all of its cars--from the $14,820 Integra coupe to the $76,000 NSX sports car--in Japan.
