Countywide : Salons to Participate in AIDS Fund-Raiser
In an effort to raise funds for the fight against AIDS, three Orange County hairstyling salons will be donating 25% of their receipts Saturday to the American Foundation for AIDS Research, or AMFAR.
The event is part of a nationwide campaign involving hundreds of salons.
The three local salons are Andres’ Hair Designing, 2823 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim; the Hair Gallery, 24261 Avenida de la Carlota, Laguna Hills, and Something Natural, 408 32nd St., Newport Beach.
“I just thought it was a nice thing to do,” said Adele Cheverino, a stylist at the Hair Gallery who suggested to the owner that the salon participate.
AMFAR is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting with research, education and public policy. It was co-founded by actress Elizabeth Taylor and Dr. Mathilde Krim.
