Penn State Coach Joe Paterno said Thursday that quarterback John Sacca has quit the team.
Sacca, who threatened to quit earlier this season, has not been at team meetings or practices this week.
Sacca began the year as Penn State’s starting quarterback and threw four touchdown passes in the opening game against Minnesota. But he has since played poorly and has been replaced by Kerry Collins.
