LOS ANGELES : City Employee Files Suit Against Ethics Commission

Share

An employee in the Los Angeles city attorney’s office has filed suit against the city Ethics Commission accusing it of improperly launching a high-profile investigation into his conduct.

Named as defendants in employee Anthony Roland’s suit are Ethics Commission Executive Director Ben Bycel and Amy Chung, Roland’s former boss in the city attorney’s office. The commission found that employees in the city attorney’s office improperly used offices and other equipment for partisan political work, although no charges were filed.

Roland, who has an outside political consulting business, said the criminal investigation caused him to lose business with the following campaigns: Michael Woo for Mayor, Dianne Feinstein for Senator, Kathleen Brown for Governor and Bill Clinton for President.
