Nine candidates for the Las Virgenes Unified School District board will square off Thursday in a forum sponsored by local homeowner groups.

The hopefuls to govern the prestigious district will field questions from the audience at the forum scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the sheriff’s Lost Hills/Malibu station. The event is sponsored by the Las Virgenes Homeowners Federation.

All nine candidates for the Nov. 2 election have said they will attend, said Malibu Canyon Homeowners Assn. member Doris LaViolette, who will moderate the forum. They are: incumbents Barbara Bowman-Fagelson and Judy Jordan, Westlake Village bank officer Joanna Lofaso, Encino-based public accountant Adrian B. Stern, Westlake Village clinical psychologist Kim B. Barrus, Hidden Hills attorney Robert Mark Freedman, Calabasas teacher Charlotte Meyer, Agoura attorney Gary Rafferty and Agoura Hills retired insurance executive Robert B. Oserin.
