Toxic Discharges
Under the state Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, Ventura County must report each week the toxic and potentially toxic materials discharged. The discharges are investigated by the county Environmental Health Division. DATE: Sept. 18 LOCATION: Southbound Ventura Freeway in Ventura MATERIAL: 15 gallons of diesel DATE: Sept. 29 LOCATION: 3055 W. Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura MATERIAL: unknown quantity of natural gas DATE: Sept. 30 LOCATION: School Canyon Road and Ventura Avenue in Ventura MATERIAL: 1 barrel of crude oil
