Dakin to Market MTV’s ‘Beavis’ Characters
Dakin Inc., a Woodland Hills marketer of plush toys and gift items based on licensed characters, said it formed a new label that will sell products based on the MTV cable network’s popular “Beavis and Butt-head” show.
Dakin said it entered a licensing agreement giving it exclusive gift merchandising rights to the animated characters, who give humorous, if crude, commentaries on television shows and music videos.
The company said its new Out of Character product line will be in retail stores later this month and will include rag dolls, mugs, figurines and keychains based on the characters. Christmas stockings and ornaments, talking dolls and wind-up figures will be introduced later this year and in January.
