Associated Press
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia —
King Norodom Sihanouk said Tuesday that doctors removed a cancerous tumor near his prostate gland but that the cancer had not spread to other parts of his body.
In a statement from Beijing, where the tumor was removed last week, the 70-year-old Sihanouk said the cancer was not serious.
Nevertheless, Sihanouk said his Chinese doctors had asked him to extend his stay in China for additional, unspecified treatment. He said he would have to delay his return to Cambodia.
