Norwalk : Citizens Group to Clean Graffiti in Neighborhoods

Residents will work Saturday to clean graffiti from areas hit hardest by taggers when the citizens group Norwalk Against Graffiti has a community paint-out day.

Volunteers will spend the day painting in the One Ways, an area of narrow streets just north of Hermosillo Park, and in neighborhoods south of Rosecrans Avenue between Carmenita Road and Shoemaker Avenue.

The group will meet at 9 a.m. at Mulhearn Realtors, 10927 E. Alondra Blvd. Paint will be supplied but participants are asked to bring paintbrushes.

Norwalk Against Graffiti also will meet with officials at City Hall at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21 to discuss ways to clean graffiti throughout the city.

Organizers also are planning an Oct. 30 fund-raiser, including a carwash and bake sale, at Marty’s Chevron, 10967 E. Alondra Blvd. The event begins at 9 a.m. Information: (310) 864-2731.
