ORANGE : Ex-U.N. Commander to Speak at Chapman

Canadian Maj. Gen. Lewis MacKenzie, former chief of staff for the 14,000-member United Nations peacekeeping force in the former Yugoslavia, will speak on “Peacekeeping in the New World Order” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman University.

Mackenzie was highly praised in July, 1992, when, as commander of Sector Sarajevo, he supervised the opening of the local airport for 30 days and the delivery of 250 tons of food and medicine to trapped residents of the war-torn city.

Limited seating is available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free.
