3 Young Men Shot in Confrontation at Coffee Shop in Fountain Valley
Three young men were shot, two as they ran, in an attack that began outside a coffee shop Wednesday night, police said.
Sgt. Paul A. Sorrell said the shooting about 7:45 p.m. followed “some type of confrontation” in front of the Cafe Gia Hoi in a strip mall on Edinger Avenue near Magnolia Street on the fringe of Little Saigon.
One man was shot on the sidewalk and two others fled, apparently with their attackers in pursuit, he said. The two managed to get about a block away before they were shot, Sorrell said.
The three men were taken to various nearby hospitals. Two were reported in very serious condition and one was in stable condition, Sorrell said. They appeared to range in age from their teens to early 20s, he said.
Their several assailants were still at large late Wednesday night.
