SOUTH-CENTRAL : Man Illegally Dumping Trash Killed by Truck Lift
A man who police said was trying to dump roofing materials in a South-Central Los Angeles alley was killed when he was caught in his truck’s lift system.
The 36-year-old man, whose name was not released, apparently was trying to release a stuck lift by reaching beneath the truck bed when the lift suddenly unjammed and fell, crushing him, police said. The victim was dead when police arrived at the scene near Stanford and Gage avenues Wednesday night. Police said the man had a history of illegal dumping in the industrial neighborhood.
