McDonnell Names New Vice President for NASA Pact

R. Gale Schluter has been appointed vice president and general manager of McDonnell Douglas’ space station activities in Huntington Beach. He will be responsible for management of all activities included in McDonnell Douglas’ contract for design and development of the NASA space station. Before his new assignment, Schluter served for 18 months as vice president and deputy general manager for these activities. He has been with McDonnell Douglas for 25 years, beginning in 1968 with the design and management of an advanced interactive computing system. He has also served as chief engineer of software for McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Co.’s West Coast operations and vice president and general manager of the Advanced Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence division at McDonnell Douglas Electronic Systems Co.

* Pat DeRush has been appointed vice president, screen-print divisions, at Quiksilver Inc. DeRush has been with the Costa Mesa designer and distributor of beachwear, snow wear and casual clothing for five years. She was most recently a manager with responsibilities in purchasing, production and planning.
