Tekelec Posts $2.8-Million Loss in Third Quarter

Tekelec Inc. reported a $2.8-million loss for the third quarter that ended Sept. 30, compared to a loss of $185,000 for the same period in 1992.

For nine months, the company’s reported loss was $9.96 million, compared to a $503,000 profit for the same period in 1992.

The quarter and year-to-date losses were primarily a result of significantly lower revenues and gross margins when compared to prior periods. Calabasas-based Tekelec is a supplier of diagnostic, surveillance and switching systems.
