Why Give Home Team Lions’ Share of Story?

Share

After waiting five years for the Detroit Lions and Rodney Peete to come to Los Angeles, I was looking forward to Monday’s coverage of the game by The Times.

Obviously, the big story was T.J. Rubley replacing Jim Everett and leading the Rams to two touchdowns (I was there). However, there was more to this game than that event. In the articles by T.J. Simers and Mike Reilley in the sports section, there was barely a mention of the other team. No mention was made of either Barry Sanders’ 91 yards rushing or Peete’s 249 yards passing.

I realize that this is the “Los Angeles” Times and the focus is on Los Angeles teams, but I think the two stories could have included a little bit more about the winning team.
