Pact Links Platinum Software and Digital

Platinum Software Corp. of Irvine said Monday that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Digital Equipment Corp. for the joint marketing of Platinum’s financial software with the computer giant’s products.

Platinum’s financial software for computer networks will be jointly marketed with Maynard, Mass.-based Digital’s Alpha AXP DEC OSF/1 product line, which is built around the company’s new generation Alpha microprocessor.

The microprocessor, which controls the core functions of a computer, brings the computing power of scientific workstations and engineers to the desktop.
