Two Are Waived by the Clippers

The Clippers waived center Wayne Tinkle and guard Harold Ellis Tuesday to reduce their roster to 13 players. They are also expected to place forward Henry James, who has tendinitis in his left knee, on the injured reserve list.

As expected, the Clippers announced that forward John Williams, who is in a weight-loss clinic, has been suspended without pay.

Free-agent center Bob Martin, a longshot to make the team when training camp opened, made the team and is battling Elmore Spencer, a first-round draft pick last year, for the backup center spot behind Stanley Roberts.
