Delta Defers Taking 32 Jets: In another sign of the slumping airlines business, Delta Air Lines said it is negotiating to delay taking delivery of new jetliners from McDonnell Douglas Corp. and Boeing Co. The order includes 15 McDonnell planes: four MD-11 wide-body jets, five MD-88s and six MD-90s. Delta planned to take delivery in its fiscal years 1995 and 1996; it said a revised timetable is being discussed. The carrier, whose fiscal year ends June 30, said it still plans to take delivery of 35 other jets--including 19 from McDonnell--through fiscal 1996.
