10 Climbers on Ecuador’s Highest Peak Feared Dead

QUITO, Ecuador —
Ten missing mountain climbers trapped since Wednesday by an avalanche on Ecuador’s highest peak are unlikely to be pulled out alive, rescue officials said Thursday.
Eyewitnesses have emerged confirming that hundreds of feet of snow fell on the climbers, six of them French, at about 17,300 feet up 20,577-foot Mt. Chimborazo.
