Ventura County Supervisor Vicky Howard is quoted in an Oct. 20 story about pay raises for court officials: “I believe very strongly that the good employees should be rewarded.”
As a good county employee, I couldn’t agree more. Does this mean that Supervisor Howard is going to ask the board to rescind its freeze on merit pay raises for county workers? Or did she really mean to include only good management-level employees on her statement?
Once again, the Board of Supervisors has sent a clear message to non-management workers: You are not good employees.
I believe very strongly that managers are only as good as their workers.
