POMONA : 180 Students Ordered Off Campus After Brawls
About 180 students were ordered off the Pomona High School campus by police Friday after racially motivated brawls broke out around lunchtime, school officials reported.
“It started with some name calling, then a student was jumped and then a variety of fights broke out,” said Ed Walsh, a Pomona school administrator.
Pomona police were called in and moved large groups of African American and Latino students to opposite sides of campus by about 1:30 p.m., Walsh said.
