Thinning on Trees Produces Larger Fruit

Share

Gardeners in general have a great reluctance to undo anything that nature has done. And for this reason they hesitate to thin out overbearing fruit trees.

You are not robbing yourself of eating pleasure when you thin peaches, plums and other crowded fruits. The thinning will result in larger, more perfect fruit. Thin to about six inches apart with peaches and four inches with pears. Do this without further delay. You’ll get better results next year by not waiting this long.
