BALDWIN PARK : Police Car Filled With Assault Weapons Stolen
A Los Angeles police car filled with assault-style weapons, bulletproof vests and several uniforms was stolen from a guarded yard in Baldwin Park early Friday, then recovered--but with some contents missing, police said.
The car was found late in the morning in the City of Industry, police spokesman Art Holmes said.
“Not everything was taken,” he said. “The car may have been torched, and we’re still looking to see what was taken.”
The car, with six assault-style weapons inside, was stolen between midnight and 1 a.m. from the yard in Baldwin Park near the San Gabriel River and Santa Monica freeways, Holmes said.
