Load of Asphalt Tips, Kills Mother, Girl, 8

MADISON, Tenn. —
A dump truck with faulty brakes overturned and spilled steaming asphalt on a car, killing a mother and her daughter inside.
Tina Piper, 24, was dead when firefighters dug her out from under the 300-degree road paving material on Friday. Her 8-year-old daughter, Jennifer, died later at a Nashville hospital.
