NEC to Expand California Chip Plant: The Japanese company will invest $200 million and add up to 250 workers to expand production at its Roseville plant, Gov. Pete Wilson announced in Japan. When its latest expansion is completed in March, 1995, NEC will employ about 1,700 people and have invested $900 million at the Roseville site, where the company makes dynamic memory chips for personal computers and other electronic devices.
