SANTA ANA — Three bank robbery suspects were arrested Tuesday afternoon after a 20-mile freeway chase at speeds approaching 100 m.p.h.
The incident began at 4:20 p.m. when three people robbed the Bank of America at 2127 E. 17th Street in Santa Ana, Police Sgt. Don Robertson said. No shots were fired, and no one was injured, he said. He could not say how much money was taken.
The three suspects fled in two cars on two freeways with police in pursuit. One car was pulled over on the Santa Ana Freeway at Rosemead Boulevard in Downey, and another was stopped on the eastbound Pomona Freeway in Chino, Robertson said.
