COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titan Men Show Balance in Final Exhibition Victory
The Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball team finished its exhibition schedule with a 106-85 victory over Blue and Gold Fleet in Titan Gym Tuesday.
Five players scored in double figures for the Titans, who open their season Saturday at Wyoming. Darren Little had 19 points, Winston Peterson had 18, Greg Vernon 17, Fred Amos 16 and Josh King 14.
“We definitely executed our offense better than the week before,” said Fullerton Coach Brad Holland, whose Titans won both of their preseason games. “But it doesn’t look pretty yet.
“I think our effort faded in and out. We’ve got such a long way to go. We are very inconsistent in everything we do.”
Holland used a rotation of nine players, none of whom played fewer than 13 minutes. All nine figure to play a significant amount Saturday at Wyoming.
