Glendora : New Hospital Management
Glendora Community Hospital announced Monday that it has hired EPIC Healthcare Services, a Dallas-based company that manages eight hospitals in five states, to take over management duties of the medical facility.
The change went into effect Wednesday. The hospital’s former chief executive officer, Ron Porter, resigned in June for personal reasons, said Sharon Pillon, chief operating officer for the hospital.
“The changing economic times and the changes in health care almost force you to connect with a larger system,” said Pillon, explaining the hospital’s reasons for contracting with a national management firm.
EPIC Healthcare Services--which also manages Westside Hospital in West Los Angeles--is connected with EPIC Healthcare Group, which manages 53 hospitals across the United States, Pillon said.
