Re Toss to Carry 119 Pounds in Silver Belles Handicap
Re Toss, third in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff behind Hollywood Wildcat and Paseana, will carry 119 pounds Sunday, spotting her rivals between one and eight pounds, in the $100,000 Silver Belles Handicap at 1 1/16 miles at Hollywood Park.
The 6-year-old mare, who has earned $838,786, last won in the Vanity at Hollywood Park in July. Re Toss lost by a head to Brought To Mind in last year’s Silver Belles.
The draw produced this eight-horse lineup: Thirst For Peace, Golden Klair, Senate Appointee, Sacramentada, Pacific Squall, Re Toss, Prying and Cargo.
In another race on Sunday’s card, Navarone begins his comeback. The 5-year-old won the Del Mar Handicap and the Oak Tree Invitational in 1992 before finishing seventh in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Gulfstream Park.
