AND ONE MORE THING: The Grateful Dead’s three concerts this week at the Los Angeles Sports Arena will add a few more hours of material to the group’s bulging tape vault. But at the same time, a new item has emerged from that famed repository.

“Dick’s Picks Vol. One” (named for the band’s tape archivist Dick Latvala) documents a 1973 Dead concert in Tampa, Fla., and unlike the previous two releases in the group’s “From the Vault” series, the multitrack “One From the Vault” and “Two From the Vault,” this one was recorded direct to two-track. With no chance to remix, it’s “the real, raw stuff,” according to the band’s own Grateful Dead Records. The two-CD set is available for $18.95 by mail order only at (800) 323-2300.
