El Pollo Loco Appoints Director of Research

* Scott Jones has been appointed to the newly created position of director of research and development for El Pollo Loco, the Irvine fast food restaurant chain. He was formerly vice president of research and development for Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. in Anaheim. Before that, Jones was vice president of operations/corporate systems for Marie Callender Pie Shops.

* Kathy Wyluda has been appointed quality assurance manager at Subscriber Computing Inc., a Laguna Hills software and consulting services company. She joined the company earlier this year as a quality-assurance technician. Previously, Wyluda spent two years as quality-assurance and documentation manager for Macro Educational Systems in Laguna Hills. In addition, Steve Garrett has joined Subscriber as a client management consultant. He was formerly new business sales and marketing manager with Information Complex Group, a Redondo Beach high-tech sales and direct marketing consulting firm, value-added reseller and systems integrator.

* Tim Henderson has been appointed vice president of franchise marketing for Century 21 of the Pacific Inc. in La Palma. Henderson was previously with Century 21 of Eastern Pennsylvania Inc., where he served as a franchise marketing consultant.

* Julia Kopta has been appointed to the newly created position of executive vice president, planning and development for Community Psychiatric Centers in Laguna Hills. She was formerly chairwoman of Care Visions Corp., a pediatric alternative-care system she founded in 1987. Before that, Kopta was vice president of the home-health division of Community Psychiatric. In addition, Ronald L. Ooley was promoted to executive vice president, administration. He had been senior vice president, human resources since 1992. Suzanne S. Hovdey was appointed senior vice president, investor and corporate relations. She joined the company in 1991 as a vice president. Also promoted to senior vice president was John Vidaurri, formerly vice president for business development, CPC Managed Care. Grant Kunishige was promoted from assistant vice president to vice president, financial planning. And Morgan L. Staines was appointed general counsel in addition to his role as corporate secretary.
