WESTLAKE : Tips on Crime ‘Hot Spots’ Sought
The list of “hot spots” to be compiled by members of the Westlake Neighborhood Watch at their monthly meeting Tuesday doesn’t cover trendy nightclubs or singles bars.
Crime makes these locales hot.
Three or four times a year, members pool information about suspected criminal acts that occur near their homes or at their jobs and provide the list to police and the City Council.
The information, which may be submitted anonymously, should include such specifics as descriptions of suspected drug dealers or gang members and times and locations of their criminal activities, said Tom Coyle, the group’s chairman.
Capt. Nick Salicos, the newly appointed leader of the Rampart Division, will attend the first half of the meeting, which begins at 2 p.m. at 1925 Wilshire Blvd.
