THOUSAND OAKS : Clothing, Blankets Sought for Homeless
The Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce is collecting used clothing and blankets for the homeless as part of the annual Conejo Valley Winter Shelter Program.
Local social workers say cold-weather clothing is especially needed, particularly jackets and coats, sweaters, sweat shirts, jeans, T-shirts, socks and blankets.
Donations may be dropped off at the chamber office at 625 W. Hillcrest Drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Chamber members will deliver the clothing and blankets to a local church, where the homeless may take whatever they need. Any extra clothing will be distributed to other local social services.
For more information, call the chamber at 499-1993.
